Summer 2026

Happy Summer!

The theme of this past quarter has been a renewed sense of purpose. It marked the release of my first book!Ending Abuse: A Practical Step by Step Guide for Successfully Navigating Traumatic Relationships. There is a profound sense of satisfaction in producing something that can support others in a practical and tangible way. It has been both humbling and reassuring to receive positive responses from readers. The launch came with a pleasant surprise that the book reached Top 10 in multiple categories on Amazon Canada.

The launch also introduced me to a concept a fellow counsellor recently described as “positive stress”. We often think of stress as something negative, yet sometimes life unfolds in wonderful ways all at once. New opportunities, meaningful projects, and exciting milestones can create their own form of pressure. Learning how to embrace growth while maintaining balance has been one of my greatest lessons this past quarter.

Another exciting development has been the continued growth of my private counselling practice. I have the absolute joy of supporting individuals in successfully navigating life transitions, relationships, chronic illness, trauma recovery, and separation/divorce.I love this work!Witnessing people claim their sovereignty and transform their lives is an ineffable experience.

Outside of private practice, I have continued contract work with Mamas for Mamas, a Canadian charitable organization that supports mothers, caregivers, and families facing various forms of hardship. Earlier this year, I participated in case work, family law and criminal court support, and programs serving at risk families. More recently, I accepted a contract as Director of Community Engagement, allowing me to build relationships across Canada with community organizations, businesses, and individuals who are making a significant positive impact.

One of the greatest privileges of this work is witnessing humanity at its best. Throughout my career, I have worked in environments ranging from venture capital boardrooms to front line crisis support. Regardless of economic circumstance, I continue to see the same thing: people sincerely wanting to support one another. Every single day I encounter individuals who quietly give their time, expertise, and resources to help those around them. It leaves me feeling deeply hopeful about where we are headed as a society.

I was also honoured this spring to be recognized as a 2026 Purple Ribbon Awards Hopegiver of the Year Honoree, presented by Alliance for Hope International, in recognition of my work supporting survivors of domestic violence. While recognition is never the goal, it was meaningful to see this work acknowledged.

As we move into the second half of the year, I remain grateful for the opportunity to support people in reconnecting with their own strength, autonomy, and voice. The resilience I witness every day continues to inspire me, and I look forward to sharing more with you in the fall :)

Keep up the great work of being you!
